Inputs you need

Elevation is the last part of the firing solution, not a substitute for target location. Confirm the measured range, selected shell and charge before setting the gun.

The ballistic calculator brings those choices together. The documented workflow includes the firing bearing, an optional target symbol, shell type, range and powder-charge amount. The range and charge are the essential inputs for the elevation calculation; the other fields help keep the printed card understandable.

Calculator workflow

1. Measure range from the turret to the plotted target.
2. Select ammunition for the target effect.
3. Dial the measured range into the calculator.
4. Choose a powder-charge amount. A warning state means the chosen charge cannot satisfy the range; use an accepted amount rather than forcing a number.
5. Pull the calculation control to print the elevation card.
6. Check that the card belongs to the correct target and gun before loading.

Set the guns

The loading sequence must be sealed before the guns can be elevated. Elevation has the same coarse/fine pattern as rotation: a fast sliding control gets close to the requested value, while the wheel is used for the final precise setting.

The two barrels can be elevated separately. That allows different vertical settings for two targets on the same general bearing, but it also makes it important to keep each firing card matched to the correct barrel.

Final check

Before firing, verify the target, shell, actual powder charge, bearing, elevation and armed state. After the shot, correct only from confirmed impact information such as reconnaissance photos, mission reports or a visible target-state change.
